Introducing GlobeMed’s 2017 Annual Report!

2017 has been an incredible year for GlobeMed. We are a dynamic network of more than 2,000 students at 60 university campuses, 4,000 alumni, and 56 grassroots organizations in Africa, Asia, and the Americas who — together — foster the global health leadership and partnership needed for tomorrow.

We are so excited to share our annual report! We invite you to learn what we have accomplished over the past year, and explore the stories of our students, grassroots partners, and alumni who demonstrate the impact of our work.

Some things to celebrate:

– We have chapters at 12 Minority Serving Institutions, giving students from underrepresented communities access to our network.
– The Alumni Association is one year old, and has six hubs across the United States!
– Our grassroots partners in Asia participated in their first Partner Forum in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
– We received support from over 650 donors ranging from individuals, family foundations, corporations, government, and universities.

In my short time at GlobeMed, I have seen the power of the network, which is connected by the shared passion and purpose to achieve health equity for all. I am humbled by GlobeMed’s work and am honored to join the ranks of such a talented, committed, and enlightened group of people.

Your tremendous support has made all of this possible, and we are so grateful for another year of growth.

To keep supporting our work, please consider giving this holiday season. All gifts made to GlobeMed are full tax-deductible.

With gratitude,
Naomi Sugar, MPH
Executive Director

Featured on the annual report cover are Ines Siepmann (GlobeMed at Colorado College) and Edwin Wetoyi (Program Coordinator for the Western Organization for People Living with HIV/AIDS). Through their partnership, this GlobeMed chapter and WOPLAH promote equitable access to HIV/AIDS counseling and testing, health education, and economic empowerment in Mumias, Kenya.
